Conventional Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery is a very precise microsurgical procedure. Is one of the most common surgeries performed worldwide. It is an outpatient procedure with minimal discomfort and very quick recovery time. In the conventional cataract surgery the surgeon uses fine blades to ender the eye and open the covering capsule of the lens where the cataract is situated. Then ultrasound is used to brake the cataract and remove it from the eye. A clear lens implant is then inserted into the capsule reservoir of the natural lens. The procedure is commonly done under topical anesthesia.
